"In preparing to sell my home, I needed to have the crawl space insulated, furnace ducts replaced, and vapor barrier laid. As a woman alone, it's intimidating trying to find competent, reliable, and ethical workers/companies who don’t over bid or try to convince you that you need far more than you expected. I contacted 4 companies who advertised they did crawl spaces and after evaluating all the bids and the individuals who came out, I chose Green Home Improvements. As it turned out, the job was more complicated and difficult than they could see when they inspected to prepare the bid. It took much longer to complete than they anticipated. I really expected them to tell me they had to charge a lot more because of the unknown things they ran into but they stuck with their original bid and even provided me with receipts for additional materials they had to buy. From my experience, I would say they are a very ethical company. They always kept me apprised of the difficulties and why it was taking longer than expected. I’m a home-owner on Seattle’s eastside. We have an attic that had been neglected for over forty years, problems with pests and bats entering the space, old junk left by previous owners, and terrible quality insulation which seemed to be some kind of shredded caked sawdust. It was a mess. We decided to tackle it this winter. I got three estimates on the work from reputable contractors. Among the three, Javier "Green", with Green Home Improvements, came out, took extra time to assess the details of the job, including going up on a ladder to examine the condition of the wire mesh barriers in some of the difficult to access eaves of the house. He offered a more detailed estimate and description of the project than the competitors. The estimate and plan he mapped-out was at the same price point as the other firms, but would use better materials and we thought would result in a better outcome. We engaged him for the job. Javier was flexible with scheduling, he and his brother were clean, conscientious, and detail-oriented--just as promised. They communicated well around details of the work, which included some unanticipated issues with wiring around some light fixtures. Javier made sure we were 100% satisfied with the work, including the clean-up and all the finishing details. I highly recommend Green Home Improvement. I wish every contracting experience was this straight-forward and successful.
